Terrific Tuesday!

We learned that sunflower seeds need water and sun. We made greenhouses in science. We planted sunflowers seeds in our garden with Mrs. Fink. Some of us got muddy from watering the garden. Whitney picked a carrot from the garden. We did a project that describes us. We learned about teddy bear and porcupine words. We want to be teddy bears. We did handwriting and math. We went to Mrs. Fink's classroom for reading and phonics. We had Jesus time. We had the most best day of our life. Love, the first grade buzzing bees

Marvelous Monday

We went to math. We counted circles and made patterns out of goldfish which we ate afterwards. We learned about sunflower seeds. When the seeds dry up, you can plant them. We sang songs in Jesus time. We are learning about Abraham. We made a "mobile" about God's promises. God promises that He will never leave us. Love, the first grade buzzing bees

Fantastic Friday

We did a birthday project for Devon. We had bulls eye doughnuts and milk for snack to celebrate Devon's birthday. We went to art class. We smashed chalk, used water and egg yokes to make paint. We went to recess, had snack, and went to lunch. We went to gym with Mr. Dierks. We learned about Noah in Jesus Time. We wrote in our family journals. Wonderful Wednesday!

We went to chapel with our fifth grade chapel buddies. We had writing, PE, and played tag. We played with beach balls in PE. In social studies, we made community helper graphic organizers. We had to work in groups to answer questions about the community helper we chose. We researched what they do, what they wear, the equipment needed for their job, and where they work. The community helper book will be coming home to each family to read. Pictures will be posted of our project. We went to recess twice. Have a super day!

We made two pages of our Noah's Ark book. We went to recess twice. We went to lunch. We went to Jesus Time. We graphed in math. We played a race car math game. We learned about police officers. We learned learned about firemen and veterinarians. Have a super night!!

Marvelous Monday

What a great day we had!! We began our community helper unit in social studies. We made a creation book in religion and enjoyed singing Jesus songs. Mrs. Fink taught us more about plants. We did our math paper by ourselves after the lesson today. The following pictures were taken today. Have a super night.

Fantastic Friday

What a super day we had. We played an addition baseball game during math and scored 18 runs!! We wrote in our family journal - please do not forget to write your child back. Art began today and the students created their name on paper. We also had the opportunity to weed our garden. The class did a great job of working together to pull weeds. Mrs. Lotz will go and get the couple of pricker weeds. Now we need to decide what to plant. It was a super day that went way too fast. Have a super weekend!

Terrific Thursday!!

We went to music class. We learned about music and what music is. We did ice cream scoops with Mrs. Fink. We cut out ice cream scoops and put them in a paper bowl. We went to recess twice. We went to lunch. We did handwriting. It was our first handwriting assignment. We did homework. John read from the literacy bag. Raleigh is taking the literacy bag home tonight. We went to the computer lab. Mrs. Hill taught us a computer lesson.

Wonderful Wednesday

"We colored pictures. We made crafts. We went to the playground for recess after we ate snack. We played outside twice. We switched classrooms for reading, phonics, and science. In Jesus Time, we learned about God creating the world. We had math. In PE we played tag games. We ate lunch."

We had a super day. We began switching classrooms with Mrs. Fink's class. We used the mimio for math and social studies. Thank you for another great day in class.

A Successful First Day

Thank you for a super first day! Parents, you were wonderful this morning and the students were so grown up. A special thank you to our town German club for the gifts to the first grade today. We worked on routines today and tomorrow we begin more curriculum and changing classrooms. A great day was had by all!

Welcome Back!

Welcome back to school. As we begin this new year, I thank God for the opportunity to teach your children. As the buzzing bees, we will be "buzzing" around to learn all we can learn. Thanks to you for your support of Cross Lutheran and to the PTL for the purchase of mimios for our classroom. We are going to have so much fun using the mimios.
