Terrific Thursday!

We had math and reading. We went to computer class. Today was crazy hat day! We did calendar and phonics. We wrote in our journals and finished our Martin Luther book. We began our first field trip book. We had our first rocket math test and we went to music. We went to recess. We played "blowing away in the wind" at recess. We will have PE tomorrow. What a Great Week!

Wow! We have such a busy week. Time seems to go so fast and we have so much to accomplish. I am sorry for not blogging this week.

Thank you to Ethan's dad and Bella's dad for having us visit on Monday. The students were very well behaved and we learned a lot. Our field trip today to Gruene Senior Living was awesome. Watching the first graders play games with the residents was heart warming. The residents were so fun to play games with and the students again were very well behaved. Thank to to the residents for the treats they made us.

We began our new unit in math today. The students did great. We will also begin rocket math tomorrow. The students are very excited about it.

We got our first Flat Stanley letter today. I can not wait to share it tomorrow with the class.

Welcome to Wednesday

We went to science and we wrote in our journals about our favorite season. We made rain clouds. In PE, we ran to the fence and back again before we played a new game, Spider and Fly. The person who is the spider wears a suit and the flies try to get across from the spider. If the spider tags a fly, you begin to be another spider. The last person not tagged wins. We had chapel. In chapel we talked about what things were in the sanctuary. We had phonics and reading. In phonics and reading, we read stories. We went to recess and we played a game. We had math. We did calendar. Marvelous Monday

We went to recess. We had math and spelling. We went to Mrs. Fink's room for science and we did the mimeo. We had handwriting and we wrote P's and B's. We wrote the word "Bible". In social studies we read about Christopher Columbus and did a map skills page. Have a great night!

What a Fun Friday!

On Fridays, we have P.E. during the last 45 minutes of the day. Today I asked my friends to write down what they would like to say on the blog. I am writing everything my friends wrote, even if something is repeated.

We had P.E. We had art.
We made pumpkin people.
We went to art. In reading, we did writing and we did not have handwriting. We are having P.E.

We painted pictures in art. Some of us took a spelling test. We are having a great day!

We learned how to type in computers. We played a typing game level one. We played Kerpoof if we completed level one. We had phonics and reading. We played hangman in reading. It is a game where everyone gets to guess a letter. If we get it wrong, we add a piece to the man. When we got the whole word done, we got to read it. We spelled "We are in first grade." and "A Bed for Buddy". We went to recess. We played with our friends. We went to music. In music we sang songs. We collected the most box tops for the contest. Wonderful Wednesday!

We like to do P.E. We played cat and mouse. We did calendar and in calendar we told the clock time and did all of the stuff we had to do. We had chapel. Our chapel buddies led chapel and we sat in the front row with Mrs. Lotz. We like to do math. We went to recess. We had a super busy day.

Tuesday's Fun!

We drew a map of our classroom today. We drew a map key on the board. We had math. In math we learned how to "count on". We went to Mrs. Fink's for phonics and reading. We read "Who Are You?" in reading. We talked about how the wind is in science. Have a super night!

Monday Fun!

We did math and reading and phonics. We started a new unit in math. In social studies, we are studying Christopher Columbus. We went to Mrs. Fink's class. We wrote about penguins. We are learning about weather in science. In Jesus Time we learned about Ruth and Naomi. We stayed SUPER BUSY and had lots of fun. Have a super night!

We went to go to music. We sang "All Things Bright and Beautiful" in music. We had computer class. We are working on our David story by using power point. We learned about the Fall of Jericho in religion. We wrote "victory" on the stones. We did handwriting and took a math test. We went to Mrs. Fink's class. What a super busy day! Wonderful Wednesday!

Today we went to chapel. Mr. Dierks led chapel. We had math, spelling, handwriting, and reading. We had PE and played a fun game. We went on a field trip to sing at Gruene Senior Living. We sang well and took pictures to the residents. We got an extra recess when we came back. It was a great day in first grade!

We went on a field trip to the vet. We saw a dog. We learned about animals on our field trip. We saw a dog's heart that had heart worms. We saw a Siamese cat that was no longer alive. We saw a dog named Bailey and got to play fetch with her. We saw a dog getting his teeth cleaned. We had science and in science we did not need our pencil box because we were using the mimeo. We clicked on animals and dragged then to their habitat. We did handwriting and we did not do math. We worte our Flat Stanley letters. Thank you parents for driving today. Have a super day!
